Only four Premier League clubs have given English players more than 50% of game time in the opening seven matches of the 2016/17 season.A study conducted by the CIES Football Observatory shows that less than a handful of sides in England's top flight give local players opportunities as foreigners continue to take over the competition.According to the study, AFC Bournemouth have handed English players 81% of minutes so far this term which is a testament to young manager Eddie Howe, who has kept his playing group relatively homegrown.
